Wii Wish You a Merry Christmas!
Gather ‘round the TV and grab a controller! Ready…Set…GO!!!
“Diddy Kong” aka JW is a four-year-old preschooler. (Where did my baby go?) He loves to count to 30 and likes to play with his Rescue Heroes. Eating at Mc Donald’s with Mom and going to the swimming pool with Dad will bring a big smile to his face. When told how handsome he looked, he replied, “I’m not a hamster!” JW can be found racing around on his scooter or bike with training wheels (which may come off this summer), but if he’s inside, don’t let that cute smile fool you. With his orange mach bike, “Diddy Kong” will knock you out of the race and fly right by to the finish line.
Zooming by doing flips, you may catch a glimpse of “Baby Daisy” aka Connie, 6 years old and in first grade. Going all day to school keeps Connie busy learning how to read and spell. She enjoys writing her own stories and illustrating them. Connie will gladly show how she can do the splits along with newly learned ballet steps. When she grows up, she has said she might like to be a teacher or a mom. She creatively named a favorite Barbie doll “Lila Ann Schott.” When she puts Barbie down to race with you, look up, a green motor cycle may be flipping right over your head.
A standard car that is pink “but I wish it was green” may be way out in front of the pack if you are looking for “Mori” aka Kori. Kori is 11 and in the 5th grade. She loves art and has started to learn how to play the saxophone, which she has named “Praisy.” Reading the books and also listening to the radio drama, Kori has been hooked to the CS Lewis’ classic stories, Chronicles of Narnia. Her newly painted room has three colors that she chose: millionaire green, copper coin orange, rising sun yellow. Kori’s “big, fat, cuddly cat, Gracie, loves to share the cozy covers with Kori at bedtime.
When all is said and done, “Yoshi” aka Kaylynn has won her fair share of races. She is…drum roll please…a TEENAGER! Turning 13 and being in the 7th grade has much responsibility, but comes with plenty of privileges. In her 3rd year playing the clarinet, Kaylynn has added guitar. She hopes to try the violin next year. Reading, crocheting, and sewing are some of her favorite ways to spend time. Pizza, she believes, should be a daily essential. Kaylynn has enjoyed listening to Chronicles of Narnia radio theatre as well. If you sit by Kaylynn, she will have you falling off rainbow road continuously while she is laughing and whizzing by in her mach green bike to the finish line.
“Donkey Kong” aka Daddy and “Mama” aka Mama, grab any car/bike hat are fast and turn well to keep pace with the day to day action! Jim has been using air travel going to Brazil/Argentina, Italy, and England this year for his work at AGCO. He and Kari cashed in all those frequent flyer miles and flew together to Phoenix celebrating their 7th anniversary for a short weekend at “The Intentional Life” conference with Dr. Randy Carlson. Half of the conference was about marriage and the other half was about parenting. Kari keeps adding stories, poems, etc. on her blog http://growingforeverdaisies.blogspot.com.
Merry Christmas 2009!
We are thankful for you in our lives
